I actually saw a Super-8 silent loop with exactly the same opening as above, but with a different action: the 2 girls are not visited by a sales representive, but by a black man.
The pictures from the main action are as in the loop. So I asked myself, why should they have taken different photos of the opening sequence (especially when we look at the different picture of writing the letter)?
I think the different opening sequence (from the magazine pics) could have been used for the loop with the black man, I’m looking for…
If we only take look at 2 pictures where they put the letter in mail box, we see that the building in the background of the mailbox is different. One is brick and the other is wooden with a sign for petroleum and heating-oil. Why would they use the same actresses, same hairdoo, same clothes, same plot but different location?
